complexity of life
“Reduce the complexity of life by eliminating the needless wants of life, and the labors of life reduce themselves.” - Edwin Way Teale
ha! updated!
more bullshit…
1. Guys hate sluts even though they have sex with them!
2. “Hey, are you busy?” or “Are you doing something?” ~ two phrases guys open with to stop from stammering on the phone.
3. Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.
4. Before they call, guys try to plan out a little about what they’re going to say so there aren’t awkward pauses, but once he’s on the phone he forgets it all and makes it up as he goes.
5. Guys go crazy over a girl’s smile when they’re attracted to them
6. Guys will do anything just to get you to notice him.
7. Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest. Unless they’re going for the let-her-complain-to-you-and-then-have-her-realize-how-wonderful-and-nice-you-are method.
8. A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.
9. Boyfriends need to be reassured often that they’re still loved.
10. Don’t talk about your guy friends to your boyfriend.
11. Guys get jealous easily.
12. Guys are more emotional than they’d like people to think.
13. Giving a guy a hanging message like “You know what?!..uh…never mind..” would make him jump to a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. And he’ll assume he did something wrong and he’ll obsess about it trying to figure it out.
14. Guys are good flatterers when courting but they usually stammer when they talk to a girl they really like.
15. Guys hate asking parents for money to buy girls presents. So they come up with ideas like saving their lunch money for a week. But it never works because guys are always hungry so they end up asking the parents for money anyway.
16. Girls are guys’ weaknesses.
17. Guys are very open about themselves.
18. It’s good to test a guy first before you trust him. But don’t let him wait too long.
19. Your best friend, whom your boyfriend seeks help from about his problems with you may end up being admired by your boyfriend.
20. If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don’t need to give advice.
21. A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.
22. Guys love you more than you love them if they are serious in your relationships.
23. Guys will brag about anything.
24. Guys use words like hot or cute to describe girls. We rarely use beautiful. If a guy uses that, he likes you a whole hell of a lot.
25. Guys think WAY too much. One small thing a girl does, even if she doesn’t notice it can make the guy think about it for hours, trying to figure out what it meant.
26. Guys seek for advice from girls not other guys. Because most guys think alike, so if one guy’s confused, then we’re all confused.
27. Any guy could write out a rulebook or advice book for flirting, but no guy can write out a book about relationships.
28. Try to be as straightforward as possible.
29. A guy has to experience rejection, because if he’s
too-good-never-been-busted, never been in love and hurt, he won’t be mature and grown up.
30. If the guy does something stupid in front of the girl, he will think about it for the next couple days or until the next time he spends time with the girl.
31. No matter how much guys talk about asses and boobs, personality is key.
32. Guys learn from experience not from the romance books that girls read and take as their basis of experience.
33. Guys worry about the thin line between being compassionate and being whipped.
34. If a guy looks unusually calm and laid back, he’s probably faking it and is spazzing inside.
35. When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is. Guys rarely say that.
36. When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he’s just actually saying, “Please come and listen to me.”
37. Guys don’t really have final decisions.
38. If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn’t happen that often, so when it does, you know something’s up.
39. If your best guy friend seems to avoid you or is never around when you’re with your boyfriend, he’s probably jealous and likes you.
40. When a guy looks at you for longer than a second, he’s definitely thinking something.
41. Guys like femininity not feebleness.
42. Guys don’t like girls who punch harder than they do.
43. A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.
44. Don’t be a snob. Guys can be intimidated and give up easily.
45. Everything in moderation. Put on makeup, wear perfume. Just not too much.
46. Guys talk about girls more than girls talk about guys.
47. Guys hate rejection, but they hate being led on even more.
48. Guys really think that girls are strange and have unpredictable decisions and are MAD confusing but somehow are drawn even more to them.
49. A guy would give his left nut to be able to read a girl’s mind for a day.
50. No guy can handle all his problems on his own. He’s just too stubborn to admit it.
51. Not all guys are assholes. Just because ONE is a jackass doesn’t mean he represents ALL of us.
52. We don’t like girls who are too skinny.
53. We love it when girls talk about there ass.
54. Always make sure you know what kind of stuff your getting into before making out with a guy , like whether it’s a one time deal or not .
55. Believe it or not shy guys are the most easiest to talk to. It may not seem right but trust me they will start opening up like books after you just ask them questions about their lives and unnoticeable tell them about yours.
56. When a guy hits your butt it means that he wants you sexually.
57. Even if they refuse it all guys are ticklish on the ribs.
58. Guys love neck rubs and if he lets you keep doing it, it means that he really likes you or his neck really hurts.
59. Guys will test the waters to see how far they can get with you. Even if he doesn’t intend to it will happen. Know how far it is you want to let him go and he will respect that after you let him know a couple times.
60. When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to be with you, he really likes you and wants to be with you as much as possible.
If You Could Kick…
If You Could Kick…

If you could kick the posterior of the person who has hurt you the most,
…you wouldn’t be able to sit down for six weeks.

” That’s her!! “
Got this from a friend’s profile on facebook…
When a GIRL is quiet … millions of things are running in her mind. When a GIRL is not arguing … she is thinking deeply. When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions … she is wondering how long you will be around. When a GIRL answers ” I’m fine ” after a few seconds … she is not at all fine.
When a GIRL stares at you … she is wondering why you are lying. When a GIRL lays on your chest … she is wishing for you to be hers forever. When a GIRL wants to see you everyday… she wants to be pampered. When a GIRL says ” I love you ” … she means it. When a GIRL says ” I miss you ” … no one in this world can miss you more than that.
Life only comes around once, make sure u spend it with the right person …. Find a guy … who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him and who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.
Wait for the guy who … kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you and who turns to his friends and says, ” That’s her!! “
Students in Life
Students in Life
================
Please pray for them for they lie, cheat, steal, curse, call out,
act out and are extremely disrespectful.
Who are they?
They could be governmental officials, corporate leaders, church
folk, college students, parents, and generally adults of all ages,
professions, nationalities, races, and religions.
Below is the entire text of the prayer request that we received:
“Please pray for the 7th grade students in my class to behave.
They lie, cheat, steal, curse, call out, act out and are
extremely disrespectful. I am stressed from teaching them all
year. Please pray that they will behave in class, JUST sit
quietly and act normal.”
Perhaps you know some of the alumni of a class like that.
Perhaps you teach a few such students in your class of life.
Perhaps you are one of those students, no matter what your age.
We prayed for that teacher and for those who misbehave.

PERSPECTIVES!
PERSPECTIVES!
One day, a financially comfortable father decided to take his son to the
country, with the purpose of showing him how poor people live, and that the
son could understand the value of things, and realize how fortunate they
were.
They stayed overnight at a very humble family’s farm for 1 day and 1 night.
As the trip ended, and during their return home, the father asks his son:
So what did you think of the trip?
It was great, dad!
Did you see how poor and needy some people have to live?
Yes!
And what did you learn?
I saw that we have one dog in the house, but they have four. We have a huge
swimming pool, but they have a river that never ever ends. We have imported lamps in the patio, they have the stars. Our backyard ends at the fence, but theirs goes on and on into the horizon. Especially though, dad, I saw that they have time to talk to each other and live as a family. You and Mom have to work all day, and I hardly see you both!
As the conversation ended, the father remained silent, and his son added:
Thanks Dad, for showing me how rich we could be!!

I hope you will one day understand….
lessons from Noah’s ark
ALL WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW WE LEARNED FROM NOAH’S ARK
1. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.
when I make plans that’s when it doesn’t happen…
2. Stay fit. When you’re 600 years old, someone might ask you to do
something REALLY big.
just make sure it is not when i’m 600…how about within the next 50 years??
3. Don’t listen to critics — do what has to be done.
my critics are very much entertaining and of course, i’ll do what has to be done
4. Build on high ground.
I like that…high ground…
5. For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.
agreed!!!
6. Two heads are better than one.
sometimes I think someone should do the thinking…
7. Speed isn’t always an advantage. The cheetahs were on board, but so were the snails.
I agree and those who walk fast often fall hard on their faces
8. If you can’t fight or flee — float!
I like floating…
9. Take care of your animals as if they were the last ones on earth.
There is really only one jake…
10. Don’t forget that we’re all in the same boat.
And I shouldn’t rock it ;p
11. When the doo-doo gets really deep, don’t sit there and complain –
shovel!!!
how about I don’t complain and don’t shovel??
12. Stay below deck during the storm.
I like that
13. Remember that the ark was built by amateurs and the Titanic was built by
professionals.
Isn’t that amazing?… also by a lone man and a very very old one ;p
14. If you have to start over, have a friend by your side.
That is kinda hard…starting with a clean slate and no one there to know i believe is so much better…less pressure…less accountability
15. Remember that the woodpeckers INSIDE are often a bigger threat than the storm outside.
Interesting. It’s true. Sometimes it’s not what you have to do or say but what it takes to do it and say it ;p
16. Don’t miss the boat.
I sure hope I won’t…or then I’d have to make my own boat ;p
17. No matter how bleak it looks, there’s always a rainbow on the other side.
Just get it over and done with…and may we learn fast …
18. “Stop what you are doing, and do what God says!”
Quite interesting…May I have the ears and heart to listen and may I have the wisdom and courage to obey ;p

ANTS
Ants
=====
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:”
Yesterday on her way out of the house, my wife asked if I could
get the ants off the sofa before I left. I replied “of course.”
I went into the den expecting to get some paper and kill two
maybe three ants. Little did I realize I had to add two zeros
behind those numbers; ants were everywhere!
Every time I would clean one sofa cushion another gang of ants
would emerge from hiding. Eventually I spent over an hour
pulling every cushion off the sofa, cleaning each one twice,
then pulling each section of the sofa out vacuuming in between
and under each one. At first I couldn’t figure out why there
were so many ants until I saw what was under the sofa.
Spilled juice, cereal, popcorn, pop tarts, you name it and it
was under there. From this day forward the kids will do no more
eating on the sofa I told my wife when she got home. Looking at
these ants work I saw what the Bible verse meant.
First of all, the ants smelled their goal from the outside and
they had no respect for modern architecture nor brick
construction, they found a way in.
Second, they didn’t care how little they were and how big we
were, they simply focused on the food.
Third, they didn’t look at how heavy the food was nor how far
they had to carry it. All they did was follow the scent in
front of them, come and pickup pieces that I would have thought
were too big for their bodies and march right back to their home
with it.
Ants think Winter all Summer; because they don’t know how long
Winter will last they gather all Summer.
Ants think Summer all Winter; they know that no matter how cold
and long the Winter is, or the first day of Summer they will be
out in the sunshine. They understand life is a cycle.
There are times when food is scarce, and there are other times
when people have a buffet under the sofa.
An ant not only gathers for itself but for the benefit of its
entire colony. It even has two stomachs, one for its own
digestion and one for storage to take food back to others.
Next time you go outside, take a minute to stoop down and follow
King Solomon’s advice and observe the ant.
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:”

ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance
==========
I believe life is about acceptance. We can sit back and moan
about the raw deal life has given us or we can accept the cards
we have been dealt and make the most of them.
So many times people have asked me how I cope, and truthfully I
have days when I wonder myself amongst the chaos and confusion
that life in our household involves.
I have three children. One is autistic; he is beautiful, smart,
and intuitive in a way that is unique, frustrating, difficult to
understand and I love him.
Another child is undergoing testing for a rare endocrine
disorder which may mean that he will be steroid-dependent to
stay alive. It has been a long time since I have been able to
see him glowing with the health and vitality that we took for
granted six months ago.
I could reject the cards that God has given me but to do that
would be to deny myself the part of me that I am most proud of,
my children. They may have problems that others see as too big
or too difficult, but they are mine. I see their beauty and
their love not just for their family but the greater world
around them. The way they look at the world, the beauty they
see and the gifts that they bring to my life daily make it very
easy to accept the cards dealt to me.
For anyone out there who is going through difficulty and having
trouble seeing the beauty that is there in all our lives, please
have hope and find some time even if for just a few minutes to
count the multitude of blessings that God has given us in so
many ways.
The issues that are concerning you may not go away; but by
accepting them into your life as a part of it and remembering
the multitude of blessings we receive in other ways helps you to
grow stronger.
It is so much easier to accept the blessings but strength and
peace comes from accepting both the blessings and the challenges
we are given.
